Shift: SwingPay Range: $75,000 to $85,000 per year.


SUMMARY
Reporting to the Assistant Plant Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities and workflows of all employees to promote the overall efficiency and safety of plant operations. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  1. Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment; ensure all safety processes and procedures are adhered to and enforced.
  2. Supervise all production employees on assigned shift.
  3. Schedule and coordinate work hours and duties for employees on assigned shift; ensure regular and temporary employees are trained appropriately for assigned work.
  4. Work with maintenance personnel on all issues pertaining to function and efficiency of facility on the designated shift; ensure timely follow-up of repairs.
  5. Oversee housekeeping program activities for entire work site.
  6. Coordinate logistics for receiving and loadout of all products.
  7. Follow weekly production schedule and volume for required orders.
  8. Provide coaching and training of employees, including temporary employees; recommend employee personnel actions, including hiring, promotions, disciplinary actions and terminations to the Assistant Plant Manager.
  9. Recommend and implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods.
  10. Coordinate and schedule all safety and regular employee tailgate meetings.
  11. Develop knowledge and understanding of all systems in scale operation, loadout procedures, sampling procedures, inventory processes and measurements.
  12. Manage the Quality programs for the facility.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Special projects and/or other related duties as assigned
  • Manage Quality programs
  • Manage HACCP program samples

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of:
  • Safety, inventory and maintenance processes and procedures
  • Computer systems to create spreadsheets
  • Technical and mechanical systems related to operations

Ability to:
  • Maintain high quality control standards; effectively problem-solve, supervise and troubleshoot
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of staff throughout the organization
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Evaluate employees fairly and objectively
  • Work flexible hours; on-call availability

Experience and Training Guidelines Preferred:
  • College coursework in technical field desired
  • Three (3) years’ demonstrated experience leading and directing a team in a production environment
  • Maintenance experience preferred
  • MS Office – Excel, Word; SAP experience desired.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize successfully

Working Conditions
Work is performed in a typical outdoor environment subject to street or field noise and environment including exposure to loud equipment and machinery.  Some duties involve working in a typical temperature-controlled office environment subject to typical office noise and environment.  Position may require work outside regular business hours, including weekends, holidays and on-call, occasional travel to other company locations.
